If we had previously thought that Dave Pack had mental issues, this further confirms that.  I have not listened to all of Dave's latest sermons, so had not heard this one.

I want to tell you just how crazy David Pack is. It seems he loves to praise himself. He has declared that he is the real Elijah. He is now predicting a weird type of Rapture (he doesn't use that name) in which the members all will go to Jerusalem and help three angels build the Temple. Then Jesus reigns the world for three and a half years. After that, Jesus leaves the world to the Tribulation, but He also leaves the members here! He is beating down the members with twisted scriptures and sermon after sermon on the same subject. He is quicksand! --Anonymous

I assume this happens soon after his god strikes down three COG leaders and all of their members come over to Dave's empire with their tithe money.  However that prophecy has failed for three years straight now.  This is one more lie that Dave has uttered that will NOT happen.

A revised version of the Bible is out that fits perfectly with the god of the Church of God.  This should delight Gerald Flurry, Rod Meredith, and James Malm, since is this is the god they follow.

That god was always eternally pissed at us for something.  Jesus has had to delay his coming so many times now that we have all lost count.  All because we were not ready.  We needed more time to be corrected and spanked.

Its no wonder so many have left the church over the decades when this is the only god they ever heard about.

Vengeful and angry and ready to strike us down for being such worthless worms.

Cocoons and Wombs

Ed Suominen recently posted a piece on his blog entitled "Community." Of particular interest to me, he made reference to the fact that many Fundamentalist groups effectively encase themselves in a cocoon. They separate themselves from the outside world to reinforce the group's beliefs and protect those notions from being corrupted by the heathens without.

This phenomenon is not foreign to the Armstrong Church of God culture. Herbert Armstrong taught that the church (meaning the now defunct Worldwide Church of God) was the mother of the saints. The church served to protect the developing embryos (church members) until they could be born again into God's Kingdom. Moreover, this notion continues to be expressed by the numerous splinter groups which have succeeded that organization.

Bruce Ritter of the Restored Church of God underscored the continued importance of this analogy in his article "Is the Church Our Mother?" Speaking of the church, he stated "she carries her unborn child in her womb." According to Ritter, this is done to protect, feed and nurture the embryonic Christian.

However, as with many other features of Armstrongism, the analogy doesn't hold up under closer scrutiny. In short, we should be asking ourselves whether or not this is what God intended for "His" people. Did God design "His" Church to be a cocoon or womb to protect and nurture the saints from the evil influences of this world?

In attempting to answer that question, a few other questions come to mind:

• Didn't Christ engage folks with religious views that differed from his own? (Pharisees, Sadducees and Samaritans)
• Isn't he portrayed in all four of the gospel accounts as being in the habit of asking and/or answering questions?
• Weren't many of his sermons delivered in response to questions/challenges from his disciples and opponents?
• Did Jesus withdraw from sinners?
• Did he instruct his followers to withdraw from this world or did he encourage them not to allow themselves to be polluted by it?
• Didn't Christ ask God to protect his followers IN the world?
• Was Jesus isolated or exposed?
• Did Christ face and do battle with his adversary (Satan)?
• Why did Paul instruct the Christians of his day to put on the armor of God?
• Is armor necessary inside a womb/cocoon?
• If the truth is the truth, why should we fear or avoid challenges?
• Is the truth that fragile and delicate?

I was sent this today by a  former Restored Church of God member. Its supposedly a new video from Dave Pack telling how his church is the most superfantabulous Church of God ever to exist and that his headquarters will soon be the ONLY headquarters for the ENTIRE Church of God.  He mocks leaders from a couple other Church of God's that their prayers are fruitless.  Their groups will NEVER be as superfantabulous as his.  Only his god hears his prayers while it ignores those of other COG leaders.

The church and the world is soon to be entranced by the most mind boggling landscaped campus ever built in the existence of humanity.  No campus upon this entire world is as "staggering" beautiful as his.

He claims 100 more employees will soon be jumping ship to work on the most important campus on earth that is doing the ONLY true ministry since the creation of man.

The narcissism and arrogance of Pack is so sickening that it almost clogs your computer up watching this video.

The latest Journal that is out for January 2016 is filed with glowing tributes to Ron Dart.  One of the articles is by Ian Boyne from a branch of the Church of God International that is based in Jamaica.  He starts his article by immediately discussing this blog and how all of the unscrupulous readers here somehow found time to have kind words about Ron Dart.

KINGSTON, Jamaica—Perhaps the most telling indication of the caliber, character and com- passion of Ronald Lee Dart happened on the day of his death (Jan. 23, 2016).

When his death was announced on the leading anti–Church of God blog (run by Gary Leonard at armstrong ismlibrary.blogspot.co.nz) there was an outpouring of respect for his life and regret over his death expressed by visitors to the blog.

Some of those guys on that blog can be crude, callous and cryptic, but Ron Dart was spared their vitriol, and not because of any polite notion that one must not speak evil of the dead. Those guys hold no such scruples. 

For those who don't remember the definition behind unscrupulous (which is what he called everyone here) it is this:

While there may certainly be some crude comments in some the comments sections it certainly is a far stretch to claim that everyone here have no moral principles, are not honest and are not fair.  This is the only blog/web site out in the COG Internet universe the allows comments from ex and present day COG members with little restrictions.

This accusation is rich coming from a writer for the the Journal which is filled with some of the most unchristian and idiotic paid advertising that can be imaginable.  What valid articles the Journal may have are undermined by these advertisements.  Add to that the Journal's refusal to allow anyone to present an alternate view or debunk the trojan-horse of Armstrongism - British Israelism.

For decades now the Church of God has been led by some of the most immoral, unscrupulous, corrupt, dishonest, deceitful and odious men imaginable.  Even the Church of God International, of which Boyne is part of, was founded by an immoral, corrupt, shameless reprobate who could not keep his pants zipped, had no problem gambling members tithe money at casinos around the world, contributed to child abuse in the church which his absurd child rearing teachings, and mentally and spiritually abused members and employees. That is certainly some legacy to carry on.

I had no idea a few years ago that this blog would ever have hit 3.25 million hits in a few short years. Nor would I dream it would average 400 new visitors  every single day within the 1,200-2,000 daily hits it may receive.

Living Church of God members have found this blog to be the only source of information about the terrible abuses going on in their church.  While I certainly wish they would leave the church and find true freedom, I also see why so many stay in because of familial ties and friendships.  I have no doubt that there are many sincere Christians in the LCG who truly do want to serve God with all their heart.  Both of these reasons are why I give them unfettered access here both in articles they submit and comments.

Its not my fault that the Church of God is filled with so many unscrupulous ministers, evangelists and outright frauds who continue to abuse and steal members money to build their own little
mini-Ambassador campuses trying to recapture the glory days of old.

If the Journal, Ian and others truly believe they are doing God's work then why do they not shout from the mountain tops and expose the abuse that Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry, Rod Meredith and others are committing on a daily basis? They know the evil that exists in these groups and yet do nothing. Why are the years of false prophecies by Dave Pack, Ron Weinland, Gerald Flurry and Rod Meredith never exposed?  As usual in COGland, its all rainbows, lollipops and cotton candy.

Below is a letter I received from Ian Boyne that he asked to be published here.  I also told him I look forward to hearing about his interpretation of Reformed Armstrongism and why it still maintains meaning for him today.

I apologize unreservedly if any offense was taken to my  comments made in the Journal. None was  ever meant. I specifically said  SOME of those who  posted  on this blog can be crude, callous and cryptic—NOT all. (Had to use my Armstrongite trademark of the caps!) I said that  because  I have read  highly insensitive, distasteful  and, indeed, crude and callous comments made about  people  who had just  died , with family and friends still in grief. My comments  concerning the reaction to Ron Dart  were  to stress that his life was so impactful and impressive, especially in an environment and context where decency, compassion and respectfulness were in very short supply, that even an anti-Church of God blog like this spared him the vitriol. I never meant to convey that all who participate  on this blog make crude and callous comments. That would be a total misrepresentation on  my part.   

My reference to “scruples” related to those who were prone to make crude statements, not to everyone here. My  overarching  point was that the respect and honor shown to Dart in his death was not due to any  tradition of not speaking evil of the dead, for I have seen that violated here, but due to genuine high regard for Dart and his non-authoritarian, non-cultic behavior and ministry.  I  check  this blog literally every day and  find many of  your comments useful and poignant. l  have written in the Journal, for example,  about my respect for Byker Bob’s insightfulness and incisiveness. I always look forward  to his contributions. He has a fine, sharp mind, with formidable analytical skills.  

You, too, Gary, are obviously a  very reflective and thoughtful person, whose stand against abuse, authoritarianism and autocracy must be commended.  As a minister in the Armstrong movement  I, naturally, disagree with  much  of what is said here, but  I do  log on every day  to see what you guys are saying and what the crazies in the movement are up to.  I am sorry that because of my busy professional and pastoral life (and heavy reading schedule—which I guess is a shock. LOL), I don’t have much time to engage.  

But I confess to being  tempted to write a piece showing why a cerebral person like me still finds some value in what I call  Reformed Armstrongism.  Perhaps  one day soon  I  might yield. In the meantime I stay tuned to your site. Thanks for  giving  me a voice and again  no offense meant.

UCG has the chance this spring to change the face of its organization with new blood and new ideas.  The past several years have been a complete disaster under Vic Kubik's reign.  From the COGWA defections with 1/2 of the ministers and over half of their members, epic media failures from hiding their beliefs on their web site to the recent personal campaigns that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and garnered one new church attendee, UCG's relevance has been shattered.

UCG has been operated by the same men who ran WCG before they conspired while on WCG payroll to form a new splinter group.  They carried the same old business model of the WCG over to their new incarnation where the corruption continues.  Its ht same old men doing the same abusive things they did while still in WCG.

Its 2016 in the 21st century.  New ideas, new methods of advertising, and new ways of communication are changing the world we live in daily.  UCG still seems to be in the 1986 mode that died with Herbert Armstrong.  Will UCG finally pay attention to the younger men in the ranks?  They have dumped millions of dollars into training these men and can't find much use for them so far.

With declining income and membership someone had better wake up to the sinking ship they are in right now.

UCG has kept it low profile, but remember that Victor Kubik’s 3-year term expires this spring. The COE should soon be voting to reelect him to an additional 3-year term (or to a shorter term); or begin a search for a new President.  

It appears Victor Kubik feels confident enough that he will be reelected that he is already scheduling himself to give the national feast sermon as President this fall.

UCG members are getting tired of Kubik's "holier than thou" attitude that the UCG cannot operate without him in control.  The problem is that with the defection of COGWA ministers his opposition has basically been eliminated.  Its the good old boys who could care less what the membership thinks.

Personally, I hadn’t forgotten that his 3-year term expires this spring, and like you, I figured that it meant very little – both based on the things he’s been saying that indicate that he sees himself as a fixture, as well as the fact that their jettison of the COGWAN ministry 5 years ago makes it very unlikely that this bunch will be voted from power anytime soon – because they eliminated most political opposition and most of the ministers they’ve installed are obligated to them.

It was only a few of years ago that Dave Pack was crowing about how he "stole" Dale Schurter from the United Church of God.  You would have though Jesus had jumped ship into RCG. Jesus second coming could will never match this jump.

Dale bragged that's his eyes had been cleansed and he could see clearly that the truth was only found in what Dave taught.  Dave sent him though an intense reeducation system to eradicate the apostate teachings of the United Church of God.  Dale came out with glowing accolades that were boasted about in RCG magazines, web site stories and local newspapers.

A reader here reported:

Mr. Schurter and his wife "moved "away and the next week in services we had a sermon about how the both of them were having signs of dementia, like in his sermons he was teaching things he learned in United and he would go over time In his sermons and then Mr Pack said he put goldfish in his pond on the campus on "accident" and ruined some trees,the whole thing was just strange.

Mr. Armstrong projected a great amount of confidence.  As a result, he convinced many to follow him.  He often made extremely bold claims ("I do not speak to you by authority of men, or any politically organized church of men - but in the name, and by the AUTHORITY of JESUS CHRIST, the living HEAD of the TRUE CHURCH OF GOD!").  However, the vast majority of his prophecies/predictions failed the test of time.

It is good that God reminds us pay attention to our doubts about presumptuous preachers, and to avoid living in fear of them (or because of them).

Ron Weinland is out of prison and sitting in a halfway house with his ankle bracelet on.  He has went on the warpath recently threatening a web site that is keeping track of his lies, chronicling the financial abuses of his wife and children, and the putting on display ultimate downfall of his dwindling cult.

Did Mr. Armstrong Preach the Gospel to World Leaders?

As it became clear that the end-time events would not begin during (or before) 1972, Mr. Armstrong then went on to claim that his new commission was to bring the gospel to world leaders.  Many believed that he had both been given and fulfilled this commission.  Others have stated that HWA merely used this claim as justification to spend lavishly on housing, furnishings, artwork, clothing, cars, airplanes, travel and entertaining and that his visits with dignitaries served no purpose in proclaiming the gospel to the world. 

Can we determine from HWA’s own descriptions of these events (and from documented history) which claim is correct?

From Mr. Armstrong's perspective

Member Letter 7/30/73:  "God has shown me HOW to present it [his gospel]... as a sensational NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT that affects their country... in such a way that their newspapers will PUBLISH THE NEWS—PRINT WHAT I SAY…I believe I can proclaim this true Gospel as something SO NEW—so  STARTLING—so SENSATIONAL—that it will get big headlines in newspapers…"

"It’s NOTHING LIKE what missionaries have taught in those countries! They will not recognize any connection WHATEVER. It will not appear as anything competitive to THEIR religions.

In Japan it will be thundered to them as direct from the CREATOR OF THE JAPANESE PEOPLE.  I will not say anything against their religions...

THAT’S OUR COMMISSION! Just the ANNOUNCEMENT of the soon coming KINGDOM OF GOD.. of course I must reveal this great announcement to these heads of state first…"

Ministerial bulletin  6/3/79:  "Some weeks ago I authorized the formation of a new FOUNDATION—named the Ambassador International Cultural Foundation. It has become a necessary adjunct to this worldwide dimension of getting Christ's TRUE Gospel to the nations through heads of government…[a] whole new phase of the Work.

... One thing has been a serious handicap and caused me and my touring team no little embarrassment. We have had to say that we represent either Ambassador College, or Worldwide Church of God.

... This new Foundation is giving us great added prestige, credibility, and favor. It is something NO ONE CAN CRITICIZE. It doesn't sound 'religious'!"

From an opposing perspective

The following are some comments by Marion McNair, one of the first men to be ordained as an evangelist in HWA's Radio Church of God. He left the organization and wrote “Armstrongism-- Religion or Rip-0ff?” after becoming disillusioned about Mr. Armstrong.   From pages 60-62 of that book:

 “Did the TWELVE APOSTLES, when they came to the attention of rulers, hide the fact they represented Jesus Christ? Did they not say, when confronted, "… we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard… and they spake the word with boldness…" (Acts 4:19-20). Verse 2 of this chapter shows exactly what they preached—"The resurrection of the dead through Christ Jesus."

But Armstrong does not represent Christ to the Japanese. He thunders to them as direct from the CREATOR of the Japanese people. Whatever false god they have in their minds is the one they will "believe" is sponsoring Armstrong. It could be Buddha, Confucius or the Imperial god (Shinto) but not Jesus Christ.

Is that what our Lord instructed? Did He say to go to a nation "in the name of its god"? But rather through Paul, "… whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus…" (Col 3:17)

… Jesus said, "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words… of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh…"  Christ wants His ministers to speak boldly in His name. He did not say, "Go ye therefore unto all the world and SNEAK the Gospel into every nation."

Was Mr. Armstrong's approach effective? 

Did Mr. Armstrong actually have an impact on world leaders (and the world overall) through this with his “sensational” approach?  Did he make headlines and get newspapers to print "the gospel message" that he had delivered?

Member Letter  12/18/79:  "Wearrived [in Red China] on Sunday evening, December 2nd. On Monday evening I spoke for about a half hour at a banquet in my honor, attended by prominent members of the government and their wives. Tuesday evening I spoke again before the Diplomatic Corps, including ambassadors—many with wives—representing 76 (SEVENTY-SIX) other nations from all parts of the world, beside a number of high-ranking Chinese...

[HWA, quoting a memo by Stan Rader about the meetings] ... "The Vice-Chairman undoubtedly had been advised of your strong comments Monday night and again on Tuesday night. I believe that he knew full well that the United Europe and the cataclysm that would follow were directly connected with your comments about the'Strong Hand from somewhere' that would save mankind from complete destruction and would be man's salvation and only HOPE."

From the perspective of the news media

NEWS OF THE WORLD  8/1/75 , page 5:   Article below describes how HWA's donations were used to arranged introductions as photo ops, but that his meetings were completely insignificant and his antics were not appreciated by those leaders that had been duped.

THE JERUSALEM POST, 8/24/76 , page 5:   “Herbert Armstrong has shuttled in and out of Israel and the Arab world in the last few years at a rate that would leave Henry Kissinger breathless.

Flying in his own executive jet, the 84-year-old fundamentalist church leader and philanthropist has visited Israel alone 50-60 times since 1965. He has visited almost as extensively in Arab countries. Unlike  Kissinger, he has offered his Israeli hosts neither bitter truths nor hard alternatives—only goodwill and money.  It is an offer neither side has been able to refuse.

Mr. Armstrong’s current visit is in connection with a $250,000 contribution for a playground in Jerusalem’s Liberty Bell Garden… “

Although Mr. Armstrong did make headlines, the subject of the articles was not the gospel of Jesus Christ and the facts regarding his travels led many to question whether he was qualified to be a representative of God. 

This brings us back to the question raised in the beginning:

     Did Mr. Armstrong actually preach the Gospel to world leaders?

First, even by Mr. Armstrong's own statements, it is clear that he did not preach the true gospel of Christ.  His vague message about the “give” and “get” ways of life (and “a strong hand from someplace” intervening in world affairs) to diplomats and other government officials did not equate to delivering the Gospel of Christ, or even an announcement about the coming kingdom of God.  

Second, HWA’s statement about being embarrassed to go before others while representing a church is an extremely troubling admission for one claiming to be Christ's only Apostle of the “one true church”. 

Third, his well-documented life of luxury with his mansions, Rolls Royce’s, art work, and Gulfstream Jets - all financed on the backs of struggling church members - unlikely demonstrated any connection whatsoever to Christ (and his example of service to others) to those dignitaries he interacted with. 

30 years later

For those ministers continuing to believe and/or promote the idea that HWA’s travels were both justified and effective… what proof is there in 2016?  Of all the world leaders that HWA had visited between 1974-1986, how many are still alive or in power at this time?  How many of them actually passed on a single bit of HWA’s message to their own citizens?  How many newspaper headlines carried Mr. Armstrong’s message to the public?  Can we truly say that any of the nations that he had visited were warned… or even informed?

Of the roughly 7 billion inhabitants of the earth at this time, how many of them have even heard of Mr. Armstrong?  Being very generous, let’s assume that the answer is somewhere between 10-50 million people.  That would just represent 0.5% of the world’s total population.  And of that tiny fraction of individuals that do remember Mr. Armstrong, would the majority remember him for the message that he proclaimed or for the manner in which he lived?

Demolition has begun on the Hall of Administration at the former headquarters of the Worldwide Church of God and Ambassador College.  The entire entire building has been gutted with its walls, ceilings and floors stripped away.

Many see this as one more indignity they have to witness and also consider it blasphemous, while others see this building as the seat of power that sanctioned their abuse, whether it be mental, spiritual or sexual.  

World rulers and queens walked its marble floors.  Priceless treasures filled its lobby from around the world. 

It was the site of the sit-in during the receivership where children were encourage to sit with their backs against the glass so as to intimidate the police.  

It housed the revolving offices of department heads, ministers and evangelists as long as they remained in good standing.  

It was filled with file cabinets filled with data on the church members, tithing records, notes from counseling sessions and derogatory comments by ministers or faculty.  It was the site of the Man Power Project that made horrendous libelous accusations at Ambassador College students due to race, perceived sexuality, women's issues, and more.

A private elevator whisked the apostle/prophet/ from his private parking garage to his fourth floor mahogany paneled office filled with antique European paintings, exquisite silver and gold pieces

It was the site of countless rebellions, rampant sexual liaisons, and eventually ended up being nothing more than studio set for made-for-TV movies due to its decades old furnishings from the 60/70's.

Forty years after it was constructed it is being ripped down.  The seat of power in the church is gone and will never again amount to anything again.  Its a fitting epitaph of the dying Churches of God.

Countless splinter group leaders and wannabe prophets all lay the blame for this at the feet of Joseph Tkach Sr.  The problem lies in the fact that this belief is totally erroneous because no matter who would have been appointed there would have been major divisions.

At the time of HWA's death Ellis LaRavia thought he was the rightful heir.  Members did not like LaRavia.  Meredith thought the same thing because he thought that since he was trained at HWA's feet he would be the logical choice.  Apartian was not a leader so he was out of the running.  Richard Ames always pandered to whomever was in charge and could never take a stand, so he would have been driven out of office rather quickly. Headquarters members despised Meredith, so it was with a sigh of relief when he did not get it.  David Hulme was not a sound choice.  Gerald Flurry was considered a nutcase and was not even in the running.  Dave Pack wasn't considered even though he brags that HWA personally trained him, which he did not.  None off the present day leaders of United Church of God ever made it to the final round because HWA knew what power hungry ineffective men they were.

Whether it was Tkach or any other COG leader out there to this date, the church was destined to collapse.  When Jesus is cast aside and the law is given power over grace it is guaranteed to fail, just like  every single COG group is doing to this date.

This mind numbing quote by a Philadelphia Church of God member exhibits why spiritual abusers like Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry and Rod Meredith have free reign to abuse their members.  The membership have been blinded to reality.

WHERE DID ALL THE DEMONS GO?

About forty-five years ago in my area, most kids were still walking to school and it was no different for me.   But then again, in another way, things were quite a bit different for me.  One morning, while on my way to school, I was troubled by a thought that most likely not bothering the vast majority of my fourth grade classmates… “What would I do if I were suddenly confronted by a demon before I got to school?”

Would I remember what to say?  If I could remember what to say (“In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to depart!”), would I have the courage to say it?  And, if I had the courage to say it, would my delivery be convincing enough for the demon to comply with my command? 

Yes, on that morning, I was probably unlike anyone else in my elementary school.

We had joined WCG in the late 60s and it seemed like every minister had at least two or three stories about casting out demons back then.  Even elders seemed to have such stories. Those stories were really interesting but they were also pretty troubling for young kids like us.  We didn’t want to be confronted by any demons… No way!  And that was what was bothering me that morning every time I approached a tree, “What if one jumped out from behind that tree and threatened me, would I be able to protect myself?”

Years later, I have occasionally wondered, what happened to all of those stories about demons?  Although there were many stories told during the late 60s and early 70’s, the numbers declined in the 80s and declined even further in the 90s.  Now it is hard to recall any such stories over the last decade or so. 

Did they stop bothering people in the various COG’s?  Or, maybe was it that the number of incidents had been exaggerated, imagined or fabricated in the first place?  Perhaps a little like Big Foot sightings during the 70s?  It seems we hear of fewer of those sightings now too. 

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

James Malm's latest false prophecy is this:

...there will be 2300 days [years] until the sanctuary is cleansed and the destruction of the final seventh resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire of  Babylon as described in Dan 2, Dan 7.At a day for a year this 2300 days shall be 2300 years.  Provided the Calendar data is correct the highly probable year of the coming of Christ and the cleansing of the sanctuary is:  Coming forward 2300 years from 280 BC and adding 1 for year zero, arrives at spring 2021 AD,  when the sanctuary shall be cleansed by the coming of Jesus Christ.Now subtracting 42 months (1260 days) shows that this final beast emperor  will occupy Jerusalem, beginning at the end of 2017.Given the historical difficulties of the Greek struggles it is possible that this date might be in error by a year or two, but one thing is certain; IT IS VERY CLOSE INDEED!

Britain is highly likely to leave the EU, but exactly how long that process takes is unclear; and certain other countries are likely to follow, creating a crisis in the EU and opening the way for the setting up of the miracle working deceiver in the Vatican in late 2017, who will immediately call for and bring about the  rise of a New Europe; the seventh revival of the Scarlet Beast of the Holy Roman Empire. This man of sin will then go to the Holy Place [Temple Mount] 75 days after being set up in the Vatican and the great tribulation of Mat 24:15 will begin. Along with this is the coming defeat of radical Islam and a move towards a Mideast peace deal 1 Thess 5:3.These events are right in line with a date of late 2017 for the start of the tribulation; followed by the coming of Messiah 42 months later; in 2021 AD!

For any member of LCG, consider the following.  From the beginning of his career, Rod Meredith issued numerous totally inaccurate prophetic warnings with extreme confidence and apparent conviction, just like his mentor Mr. Armstrong.  Also, Mr. Meredith praised HWA like no other and vouched for HWA’s pinpoint prophetic accuracy… despite the fact that it was a complete falsehood.  

How can this man still be seen as being a credible representative of God?

Consider just a few of Rod Meredith’s false assertions…

Plain Truth, August, 1957, page 5, R.C.Meredith:"We will soon find that hoof-and-mouth disease will spread COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL!These things are not far off.They are here and NOW! DISEASE EPIDEMICS are prophesied to begin soon! America, WAKE UP! After 1965... We will begin to experience the pangs of starvation..." 

Plain Truth, June, 1963, page 46, RCM: "This coming, revived Holy Roman Empire which is prophesied to arise in Europe and CONQUER America and Britain within the next ten to twelve years ..."

Paul Meredith] had always been a student, and he took careful notes on Mr. Armstrong's prophetic sermons. Meredith, p. 56.  “Where True UNDERSTANDING Really Comes From?   Why are The WORLD TOMORROW broadcasts and The PLAIN TRUTH articles always on top of the news?" many ask...     God has made us willing to quit arguing and reasoning and to truly OBEY His commandments and instructions in the Bible literally. Then He has literally given us a 'good understanding" so we can KNOW the meaning of present day world events and what WILL HAPPEN in the near future. Other groups play talk in vague generalities about the coming world cataclysm or Tribulation or "the Lord's return some day," but no other religious Work on earth understands SPECIFICALLY what is happening!... 

But the UNDERSTANDING of this news and its application to YOUR life comes only from God. And God has said: "Surely the Lord God will do NOTHING, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7).  You have just been introduced to some of the leading ministers and servants of the Most High God on earth today! You can easily PROVE that this is so any time you wish to with art open mind and an open heart.This is the prophesied Work of God for this end time. It is the last generation of whom Jesus said: "Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come'' (Matt. 10:23). “

Perhaps an ex-LCG member could document a more extensive “RCM Prophetic Record” for the benefit of all of those members who remain unaware of his extensive track record of error.

Poor United Church of God......just when they want the world to believe they are the best thing since Sizzlean, along comes a story about their Wisconsin Dells feast site. Due to declining membership rolls because of it's inability to retain members and draw in new ones, UCG has had to downsize yet again.

The long time Feast site at Wisconsin Dells is no longer financially viable due to declining attendance and for 2016 and 2017 the Feast of Tabernacles has been booked at the Olympia Resort Hotel, Spa & Conference Center in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.  The numbers of attendees is so small that all brethren can potentially stay at the same facility.

Vic Kubik writes:  One advantage of moving to the Olympia Resort Hotel, Spa & Conference Center is that it will potentially save the Church over $30,000. Another advantage is that for the first time in Wisconsin most brethren will be staying at the same location, at the host hotel. 

So Vic has saved $30,000...will he will soon waste it on another failed media campaign or dump into UCG's so called Bible College.

How many years do we have to wait till the wrecking crews tear down their office building?

I received this today concerning a recent sermon Meredith gave.  This is the same hate mongering malarkey that he has been spouting for decades.  Its blacks vs whites, it's his hatred of interracial marriage, it's his belief that it is OK too discriminate against other races...mainly blacks and of course his old standby...the gays.

I was just wondering if you've heard about Meredith's latest "sermon" titled, "Satan's Alternate Universe"? When I listened to it, I really couldn't believe my ears. It should have been titled, "Meredith's Alternate Reality" because it was so Anti-Christ and so anti-love. Basically, the main thing he talks about it how Satan is using interracial marriage as a tool to destroy, and then follows it with how even Christ was discriminatory so it's ok discriminate, especially when it comes to healing people. !!!!! He mainly launches in at about 30:00 into his drivel. Then, he goes on to talk about homosexuality, because, you know, they go hand-in-hand ( he rarely ever brings up race without bringing up homosexuality).......as well as abortion and being politically incorrect.
